I try to get coats on the sheep by the first of October to protect their wool: fall seems to be the worst season for the sheep to get weed seeds and other debris in their fleeces. Here they are on an early foggy morning, waiting to follow Holden (our Great Pyrenees) and I, out to the big pasture. That large and handsome black sheep in the back is our new ram, Kendal.
The sheep all start following me down the hill and through the woods. There is still plenty of green grass out in the pasture and they're always eager to get out there and start grazing.
